Hello! I am Rachel- Osteopath, Mama and Birth Education Teacher.
As an Osteopath and former Yoga teacher, I have a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology and how it relates to pregnancy and birth.
After years of treating pregnant women pre and postnatally and playing an important role in the health and wellbeing of the women coming into my practise I built strong foundations for a holistic approach to pregnancy and childbirth. I have come to understand the importance of preparing for the physical and mental challenge of birth, and throughout the course of treatments would regularly advise my patients on prenatal exercise, helping to minimise discomfort as the body to expands during pregnancy, optimal foetal positioning (getting the baby into the right position before birth) and helping women prepare themselves mentally and physically for birth.
As my patients continually sought more advice and recommendations from me as their trusted health practitioner, I attended the Royal Women’s Hospital training for birth educators and the ‘Confidence in Birth Workshops’ were born.
